Starting Out in Entertainment

In 2002, when Suzuka was very young, she won a contest for a toy makeup line called Jewel Drop. She then appeared in several TV commercials for Jewel Drop. In 2006, she joined the Actor's School Hiroshima (ASH). There, she trained alongside other talented students. She was considered one of the top two students at the school.

In 2007, Suzuka joined the talent agency Amuse Inc.. She became a runner-up in their "2nd Star Kids Audition." This was a big step in her career.

Joining Karen Girl's

In 2008, her agency formed a singing group called Karen Girl's. Suzuka was chosen to be one of the three members. This group was seen as a younger version of the popular Japanese band Perfume. Karen Girl's sang several theme songs for an anime show called Zettai Karen Children. The group stopped performing on March 31, 2009, after the anime series ended.

Acting in Musicals

In March 2009, Suzuka also started acting in musicals. She was cast in a stage play based on a Japanese novel called The Adventurers: Gamba and His Fifteen Companions. She performed in this musical again in June 2010, playing the role of Shioji.

Becoming a Member of Sakura Gakuin

In April 2010, Suzuka became a founding member of Sakura Gakuin. This was an idol group created by her agency. The group had different sub-units, which they called "clubs." Each club released its own songs. Suzuka joined the "Heavy Music Club," which later became known as Babymetal. In Babymetal, she performed with fellow Sakura Gakuin members Yui Mizuno and Moa Kikuchi.

Leading Babymetal

In March 2013, Suzuka graduated from junior high school. This meant she also had to "graduate" from Sakura Gakuin, as the group was only for girls up to junior high age. Her graduation concert was a big event held in Tokyo. After graduating, Suzuka continued to perform with Babymetal. The group became independent from Sakura Gakuin. She started using her stage name, Su-metal. Babymetal released their first album in February 2014.

Suzuka's powerful singing has been highly praised. In October 2022, she was credited as a lyricist for the first time on a Babymetal song called "Divine Attack (Shingeki)."
