About the Show
Sym-Bionic Titan mixes high school life with huge robot battles. It follows Ilana, Lance, and Octus, who are aliens from the planet Galaluna. They crash-land on Earth while trying to escape a war on their home world.
Their planet has been taken over by an evil general named Modula, who uses scary monsters called Mutraddi. To hide from Modula, the three heroes pretend to be normal high school students in a town called Sherman, Illinois.
When danger strikes, Ilana, Lance, and Octus put on special armor. But for the biggest threats, they combine "Heart, Body, and Mind" to become the amazing cyber-giant, Sym-Bionic Titan!

Why the Show Ended
On March 29, 2011, it was announced that Sym-Bionic Titan was canceled. The main reason was that the show couldn't get a toy license. This means that no company wanted to make toys based on the characters and robots, which is often important for animated shows to continue.
Later, in 2014, it was confirmed that the show was officially "written off" by the network for financial reasons. In 2018, the creator, Genndy Tartakovsky, shared that he and his team had already written 10 more episodes before the show was canceled.
Awards and Recognition
Sym-Bionic Titan was nominated for two awards at the 38th Annie Awards in 2011. These awards celebrate excellence in animation.
- Stephen DeStefano was nominated for Best Character Design.
- Scott Wills was nominated for Best Production Design.
Could it Return?
There's a chance Sym-Bionic Titan could come back! In 2017, Genndy Tartakovsky mentioned that he would like to return to Cartoon Network and finish the story of Sym-Bionic Titan. He even thought about making it similar to the giant robot movie Pacific Rim.
Also, characters Ilana and Octus made a quick appearance in the OK K.O.! Let's Be Heroes episode "Crossover Nexus" in 2018. Tara Strong even voiced Ilana again for that cameo! The show was also mentioned in an episode of Craig of the Creek.
