How He Got Started
T-Minus began making music when he was a student at Pickering High School. He said, "I’ve always loved music. I used to play the drums, so I’ve always been interested in music in that way."
After playing drums for a few years, he wanted to create his own beats. When he was 15, he downloaded a computer program called Fruity Loops. This program is a digital audio workstation, which is like a music studio on a computer. He quickly learned how to use it to make complete songs.
His Musical Style
T-Minus has a unique sound. He tries to make music that feels new and different. He has said he is inspired by the R&B music of the mid-1990s, from artists like Aaliyah and producers like Timbaland.
He explained that he wants his music to have a lot of emotion. He focuses on creating sounds that connect with listeners in a powerful way, just like the music he loved growing up.
Awards and Nominations
T-Minus has been recognized for his amazing production work. He has been nominated for several Grammy Awards, one of the biggest honors in music. He also won Top Producer at the 2012 BMI R&B/Hip Hop Awards.
