Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao (born March 3, 1997) is an American singer and songwriter. She became famous as a member of the pop girl group Fifth Harmony. This group is known as one of the best-selling girl groups ever.

While with Fifth Harmony, Camila also started her solo career. She released songs like "I Know What You Did Last Summer" with Shawn Mendes. Another hit was "Bad Things" with Machine Gun Kelly. This song reached number four on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart. She left Fifth Harmony in late 2016.

Camila's first solo album, Camila (2018), reached the top of the US Billboard 200 chart. This album was greatly inspired by Latin music. Its main song, "Havana" (featuring Young Thug), became a worldwide hit. It was the best-selling digital song of 2018. Her next song, "Never Be the Same", reached the top ten in many countries.

Early Life and Moving to the US

Karla Camila Cabello Estrabao was born in Havana, Cuba, on March 3, 1997. Her father is Mexican, and her mother is Cuban-Mexican. Her parents met in Mexico City before moving to Cuba. Camila has a younger sister named Sofia.

When Camila was six years old, she moved to Miami, Florida, with her mother. They crossed the border from Mexico into the United States. Her mother told her they were going to Walt Disney World to make the move exciting. Camila's father joined them about 18 months later. Camila became an American citizen in 2008.

Camila went to Miami Palmetto High School. However, she left school in 2012 to focus on her singing career. She later earned her high school diploma.

Camila Cabello auditioned for the TV show The X Factor in 2012. After being eliminated, she was called back to form a girl group. This group became Fifth Harmony, along with Ally Brooke, Normani, Lauren Jauregui, and Dinah Jane. The group finished in third place on the show. They then signed record deals with Syco Music and Epic Records.

Fifth Harmony released an EP called Better Together (2013). They also released two studio albums: Reflection (2015) and 7/27 (2016).
