Taurean Yves Jordan, known as T.J. Jordan, is a talented American basketball player. She was born on March 16, 1986, in Denver, Colorado. T.J. played college basketball for Old Dominion University (ODU). She set many scoring records there. People thought she was one of the best players in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA).

T.J. Jordan's Early Life and High School Career
T.J. Jordan went to Woodrow Wilson High School in Portsmouth, Virginia. She was friends with the famous runner LaShawn Merritt there. T.J., along with Khadijah Whittington, helped Wilson High win its first-ever state championship game in girls' basketball. She was named the Virginia High School Coaches' Player of the Year.
College Basketball Highlights at ODU
T.J. Jordan became a star player at Old Dominion University. She was named the MVP of the 2006 CAA Tournament. In one game against Northeastern University, she set an NCAA record. She made ten three-pointers in that game! T.J. was really good at shooting three-pointers. She won the CAA MVP award twice. Many people saw her as the main player for the Lady Monarchs team during her time there.
Senior Season Success
In her final year, T.J. led the Lady Monarchs to their 25th straight NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Championship appearance. She was the team's top scorer, averaging 13.3 points per game. Old Dominion beat Liberty University in the first round of the 2008 NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament. This was their first tournament win since 2002.
T.J. scored fourteen points in a thrilling overtime win against Virginia in the second round. Old Dominion then played against Connecticut in the Sweet Sixteen. They lost to the Huskies 78–63. T.J. scored three points in her last college game.
After College Basketball
Even though T.J. Jordan was a great player, she was not chosen in the 2008 WNBA draft. This is where professional teams pick new players. However, she did try out for the United States women's national basketball team. This shows how talented she was!
