Playing Career Highlights
After finishing high school, Takayuki Yoshida started his professional football career. He joined Yokohama Flügels in 1995. He quickly became an important player, often playing as a forward. His team won the 1994–95 Asian Cup Winners' Cup in 1995.
In 1998, his team won the Emperor's Cup. Takayuki Yoshida scored the winning goal in the final match! Sadly, the club had money problems and closed down at the end of 1998.
He then moved to Yokohama F. Marinos, a new club formed from the merger. He didn't get to play as much there. So, in 2000, he moved to J.League Division 2 team Oita Trinita. He played many games as an attacking midfielder for them.
Oita Trinita won the championship in 2002. This meant they were promoted to the top division, the first division!
In 2006, he returned to Yokohama F. Marinos. Then, in 2008, he joined his local club, Vissel Kobe. He played many matches for Vissel Kobe until 2011.
In 2012, he had an injury and couldn't play much. Vissel Kobe was moved down to the second division that year. Even though he thought about stopping playing, he decided to play for one more year. In 2013, Vissel Kobe finished second and was promoted back to the first division. Takayuki Yoshida retired from playing football at the end of that season.
Representing Japan
Takayuki Yoshida also played for his country. In August 1993, when he was a teenager, he was chosen for the Japan U17 national team. He played in the 1993 World Championship, which was held in Japan. He played in 3 matches during that tournament.
Takayuki Yoshida's Coaching Career
After he stopped playing football, Takayuki Yoshida started coaching. He began his coaching journey at Vissel Kobe in 2015. He worked as a coach under the main manager, Nelsinho Baptista.

In 2018, another big star, Andrés Iniesta, joined Vissel Kobe in July. The team's performance improved, and they even reached 4th place for a while. However, their results dropped later, and Takayuki Yoshida resigned in September. The team was in 10th place at that time.
In April 2019, he became the manager of Vissel Kobe again, taking over from Juan Manuel Lillo. But the team only won 1 out of 7 matches, and he resigned again in June. He also managed V-Varen Nagasaki for a short time in 2021. Since June 2022, he has been the manager of Vissel Kobe once more.
