Tamara Todevska (Macedonian: Тамара Тодевска), known simply as Tamara, is a popular singer from North Macedonia. She was born on June 1, 1985. Tamara is famous for representing North Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest two times.

In 2008, she sang "Let Me Love You" with Vrčak and Adrian Gaxha. They did not make it to the final that year.

Later, in 2019, she performed the song "Proud". She achieved seventh place in the final. This was North Macedonia's best result ever in the contest!

Tamara started her music journey in 2003. Her first album was called Sino. Throughout her career, she has won several music competitions. These include MAKFest in 2006 and Skopje Fest in 2007.

Tamara is the younger sister of another well-known singer, Tijana Dapčević. They have worked together on music projects many times.

About Tamara

Tamara Todevska was born in Skopje, which is the capital city of North Macedonia. She grew up in a family that loved music. Her father, Velko Todevski, was a music school professor. Her mother, Brana, was an opera singer. Tamara's mother helped shape her powerful, operatic singing style.

Her older sister is the singer Tijana Dapčević. On June 27, 2015, Tamara married Aleksandar Dimitrovski, who used to be a basketball player. They have a daughter named Hana and a son named Daren. The couple later separated.

Music Career

Tamara's first official song was a duet with her sister Tijana. It was called "Igra luda" (Crazy game) and came out in 1997. Her music career really took off in 2003. She sang "1003" at the Budva festival in Montenegro and came in second place.

In 2005, her first album, Sino (which means "Blue" in English), was released. Aleksandar Masevski was the music producer and composer for this album. Tamara had been working with him since 2004. The album was named "Album of the Year" in 2005. Some popular songs from Sino include "Sino", "Molci, molci" (with Ronin), and "Ljubi, ljubi" (a duet with Tuna).

Tamara also did well in the Macedonian selection for Eurovision. She earned 105 points and placed second with her song "Kazi Koj Si Ti" ("Tell Me Who You Are").

Eurovision Success

In February 2008, Tamara won the Skopje Fest 2008. She performed the song "Vo ime na ljubovta" with Vrčak and Adrian. This win gave them the chance to represent Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. The song became very popular in the Balkan region.

They recorded the song in six different languages. These included Macedonian, English, Serbian, Turkish, Russian, and Albanian. A music video was also made for the song.

At the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 in Belgrade, Serbia, they sang the English version, "Let Me Love You." They performed in the second semi-final on May 24, 2008. They finished in 10th place in their semi-final. In 2008, only the top nine automatically qualified, plus one chosen by a backup jury. The jury chose Sweden, so Macedonia did not qualify for the final.

Tamara returned to represent North Macedonia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019. This contest was held in Tel Aviv, Israel. She sang the powerful song "Proud." In the final, she finished in seventh place with 305 points. She actually placed first in the jury vote! This is North Macedonia’s best result ever at the contest.

In December 2019, Tamara took part in the 21st edition of Kënga Magjike. She sang the song "Monsters" and finished fifth overall in the competition.
