Tandara Alves Caixeta (born October 30, 1988) is a famous Brazilian professional volleyball player. She has played for the Brazil women's national volleyball team and for many top clubs. Tandara is known for her powerful hitting and for scoring many points in games. She won a gold medal with Brazil at the 2012 Summer Olympics.

Early Life and Starting Volleyball
Tandara was born in Brasília, Brazil. Her father, Evaldo Caixeta, used to play amateur volleyball. When Tandara was nine years old, she saw a TV advertisement for volleyball tryouts. She decided to give it a try after trying out many other sports.
In 2005, at just 16 years old, she began her professional career. She played for a team called Associação Desportiva Brusque. Soon after, she joined Brasil Telecom/São Bernardo.
Amazing Career Highlights
Tandara first joined the Brazilian national team in 2011. That year, she helped Brazil win a gold medal at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara. The next year, she became an Olympic champion at the 2012 London Games.
She is famous for setting scoring records in the Brazilian Women's Superliga. In the 2013-2014 season, she scored 37 points in one match. This was a new record at the time. She broke her own record in the 2017-2018 season by scoring 39 points. She also scored 626 points in that season, which was the highest in Brazil. In the 2019-2020 season, she broke her record again. She scored an incredible 40 points in just four sets. This is the highest score ever in a Brazilian volleyball match.
Awards and Recognition
Tandara has received many individual awards for her skills. In 2017, she was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the 2017 Women's South American Volleyball Championship. Later that year, she won the "Best Opposite Spiker" award at the 2017 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Grand Champions Cup. She also won "Best Scorer" and "Best Server" awards multiple times in the Brazilian Superliga.
Olympic Challenge
During the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Tandara faced a challenge. She was temporarily stopped from playing before Brazil's semi-final match. This was due to a rule violation related to sports regulations. Even though she could not play in the final games, Brazil still won the silver medal at the tournament. Tandara was listed as a medalist while the situation was being reviewed. In 2022, she received a four-year ban from the sport.
