Taraco facts for kids

The Taraco Peninsula is a piece of land that sticks out into Lake Wiñaymarka. This lake is the southern part of the famous Lake Titicaca, which is shared by Bolivia and Peru. The Taraco Peninsula is located in Bolivia, specifically in the La Paz Department. There's also a town called Taraco on this peninsula.
Where is Taraco?
The Taraco Peninsula is found in the country of Bolivia. It's part of the La Paz Department, which is like a state or province. More specifically, it's in the Ingavi Province, within the Tiwanaku Municipality, and in an area called the Taraco Canton. The town of Taraco is also located right on this peninsula.
Taraco on Both Sides of the Lake
It's interesting to know that places around Lake Titicaca often have similar names on both the Bolivian and Peruvian sides. Just like the Taraco Peninsula in Bolivia, there's also a place called the Taraco District in Peru. This district is on the northern side of Lake Titicaca, in the Huancané Province in Puno. So, if you hear "Taraco," it could be referring to a place in either Bolivia or Peru, both connected to the great Lake Titicaca!
