Taylor Walter-Lee Trammell, born on September 13, 1997, is a professional baseball player from America. He plays as an outfielder for the Houston Astros in Major League Baseball (MLB). Before joining the Astros, he played for the Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Dodgers, and New York Yankees. Taylor made his big league debut in 2021.

Early Life and High School Sports
Taylor Trammell grew up in Powder Springs, Georgia. He is the youngest son of Walter and Cynthia Trammell. His father worked for the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Postal Service. His mother worked at Sam's Club for over twenty years. Taylor's older brother, Kyle, played college football for Mercer.
Taylor went to Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw, Georgia. He was a talented athlete who played both baseball and football. In his junior year of high school, he scored 13 touchdowns in football. He also helped his travel baseball team by hitting .500, getting over 30 RBIs, and stealing over 30 bases.
In August 2015, Taylor played in the Under Armour All-America Baseball Game. During his senior year, he was known as one of Georgia's best two-sport athletes. As a senior baseball player, he hit .463, stole 29 bases, and hit nine home runs. He was also named the Offensive Player of the Year in high school football for his division. He rushed for 2,500 yards and scored 38 touchdowns. After high school, he planned to play college baseball for the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Professional Baseball Career
Starting with the Cincinnati Reds
Taylor Trammell was a top player expected to be picked early in the 2016 Major League Baseball draft. The Cincinnati Reds chose him as the 35th overall pick. He signed with the Reds and started playing for the Billings Mustangs. This team is part of the Rookie-level Pioneer League. In 61 games, he had a .303 batting average, hit two home runs, and stole 24 bases.
In 2017, Taylor played for the Dayton Dragons in the Single–A Midwest League. He hit 13 home runs, had 77 RBIs, and stole 41 bases in 129 games. The next year, 2018, he played for the Daytona Tortugas in the High–A Florida State League. He batted .277 with eight home runs and 25 stolen bases. He also played in the All-Star Futures Game and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the game.
Moving to the San Diego Padres
On July 30, 2019, the Reds traded Taylor Trammell to the San Diego Padres. This was a big three-team trade. The Padres sent Taylor to the Amarillo Sod Poodles in the Double–A Texas League. He played 32 games there, hitting four home runs.
Playing for the Seattle Mariners
On August 30, 2020, the Padres traded Taylor Trammell to the Seattle Mariners. He was added to the Mariners' main roster on November 20.
Taylor made his MLB debut for the Mariners on April 1, 2021. He played center field against the San Francisco Giants. In his first game, he got his first major league RBI by drawing a walk with the bases loaded. He got his first hit on April 3, which was an RBI double. On April 10, he hit his first MLB home run. In 2021, he played in 51 games for Seattle. In 2022, he played in 43 games.
Before the 2023 season, Taylor had surgery on his right hand. He had broken a bone after being hit during a workout. He returned to play on April 30. In his first game back, he hit a grand slam. He played 22 games for Seattle in 2023. On March 28, 2024, the Mariners decided to remove him from their main roster.
Short Stays with the Dodgers and Yankees
On April 2, 2024, the Los Angeles Dodgers picked up Taylor. He played in five games for the Dodgers. On April 16, the Dodgers also removed him from their main roster.
Two days later, on April 18, 2024, the New York Yankees claimed Taylor. He played in five games for the Yankees, mostly as a defensive player. He got one hit in his only time at bat. On May 4, the Yankees also removed him from their main roster. He then went to play for their Triple–A team, the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders. Because he played for both the Yankees and Dodgers in 2024, he was guaranteed a World Series ring from the 2024 World Series. After the season, the Yankees put Taylor back on their main roster.
Joining the Houston Astros
On November 4, 2024, the Yankees traded Taylor Trammell to the Houston Astros.
