Taylor Hunt Trensch (born May 3, 1989) is an American actor who has performed in many popular stage shows and movies. He is best known for his roles in hit Broadway musicals.

Early Life and School
Taylor Trensch was born in Tampa, Florida. He discovered his love for acting at a young age.
He went to Howard W. Blake High School, where he studied theatre. He was so talented that he won a college scholarship from the Florida State Thespian Society in his senior year. After graduating in 2007, he studied musical theatre at Elon University for two years.
Career on Stage
Trensch's acting career took off quickly. In 2009, while still in college, he was cast in the first national tour of the musical Spring Awakening. He played the character Moritz Stiefel and won two awards for his amazing performance.
Making a Broadway Debut
In 2012, Trensch achieved a major goal for any actor: he made his Broadway debut. He played the role of Boq in the famous musical Wicked. Later that year, he also appeared in Off-Broadway shows like Rent and Bare.
His next big Broadway role was in 2013, when he played Michael Wormwood in Matilda the Musical. He was part of the original Broadway cast and stayed with the show for over a year.
Leading Roles
From 2014 to 2015, Trensch starred in the play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. He played the main character, Christopher Boone, a brilliant boy who tries to solve a mystery.
In 2017, he joined the cast of the hit musical Hello, Dolly! as Barnaby Tucker. He performed alongside famous stars like Bette Midler and David Hyde Pierce.
One of his most famous roles came in 2018 when he took over the lead role in Dear Evan Hansen. He played Evan Hansen, a high school student who feels invisible, for a full year on Broadway.
Trensch continued to star in major shows. He played Dill Harris in the play To Kill a Mockingbird from 2019 to 2020. In 2023, he played Mordred in a new version of the classic musical Camelot at Lincoln Center.
In 2025, he performed as Skeets Miller in the musical Floyd Collins. His performance was so good that he was nominated for a Tony Award, one of the highest honors in theatre.
Television and Film Roles
Besides his work on stage, Trensch has also appeared on television. He has had guest roles on shows like Evil and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. He has also been a voice actor for the Nickelodeon cartoon Nella the Princess Knight and the Netflix show Archibald's Next Big Thing.
