Technoblade's Online Journey
Technoblade started his main YouTube channel on October 28, 2013. His videos were mostly about the video game Minecraft. He often played on the Hypixel server, which has many small games. In one video from 2017, he even beat Minecraft on the hardest setting using a racing wheel controller! He also had a fun series called "The Great Potato War". In this series, he tried to grow the most potatoes in a Hypixel game mode called Skyblock. He was competing against another player named im_a_squid_kid.
Technoblade became much more popular in 2019. This was after he won many "Minecraft Monday" tournaments. In these tournaments, he beat other well-known content creators in combat. He also played regularly in the MC Championships (MCC) tournaments with other YouTubers and won two of them. Many people, like Cale Michael from Dot Esports, thought he was one of the best Minecraft players, especially in player versus player (PVP) fights.
In 2020, Technoblade joined the Dream SMP. This is a Minecraft server run by the YouTuber Dream. Many other popular Minecraft YouTubers play there. Technoblade started making lots of videos and live streams from this server. He and Dream had a friendly competition, and both were seen as top Minecraft players. As part of their rivalry, MrBeast held a series of player versus player duels with a $100,000 prize. Technoblade won this challenge.
In September 2021, Technoblade held a charity live stream. He raised over $300,000 for the Sarcoma Foundation of America. He reached his goal of $250,000 in just two hours.
Around the time of his death in June 2022, Technoblade's channel had 10.8 million subscribers. In August 2022, after he passed away, his channel reached fifteen million subscribers.
Technoblade's Life
Alexander, known as Technoblade, was born on June 1, 1999. He lived in San Francisco, California. In a video from 2018, he shared that he would start college to study English. However, in a video from 2019, he announced that he had left college. He wanted to play Minecraft full-time instead. The Daily Iowan later reported that he had attended the University of Iowa for a year, from 2018 to 2019. He studied creative writing there. He also had ADHD.
Technoblade liked to keep his personal life private. He usually avoided questions and interviews about himself and his family. But sometimes, he would talk about his life in his videos. His family also chose not to give interviews after he passed away. Technoblade once admitted that he and a sibling tricked his viewers in a video from 2016. They made people believe his name was "Dave". Many people thought this was his real name until his death was announced. That's when his real name, Alexander, was shared.
His Cancer Journey and Passing
In a video posted on August 27, 2021, Technoblade told his fans he had cancer. He noticed pain in his right arm and swelling on his shoulder. Treatments like Chemotherapy and radiation therapy did not work well. His doctor said his arm might need to be removed. Technoblade also told his viewers to wear face masks and get vaccinated. This was important because his body's defenses were weak at the time. After his diagnosis, Dream gave $21,409 to cancer research. Technoblade also held a charity live stream in September 2021. In December 2021, he had a successful surgery to save his arm.

Technoblade never said exactly what type of cancer he had. However, he had raised $500,000 for the Sarcoma Foundation of America during his YouTube career. Several news groups reported that Technoblade died from sarcoma that had spread. The Foundation also confirmed that Technoblade had been diagnosed with sarcoma.

Two years ago, I recorded a video with Technoblade where one hundred Minecraft YouTubers came together to survive some natural disasters and fight to the death. A few months ago, I realized I didn't actually use much of [his] footage in my video, and after taking a long, long time to track his recording down ... I found out it was actually really entertaining. So I've put together what I think would live up ... to a Technoblade video in Alex's standards.
The video was a collection of old footage from Technoblade's point of view. It showed the Minecraft world's natural disasters. According to NOS, the video got almost 3 million views in just a few hours.
