The Tenny River is a small but important river in Maine, a state in the United States. It's about 1.0-mile-long (1.6 km) and connects two lakes: Crescent Lake and Panther Pond. You can find this river in the town of Raymond.

Exploring the Tenny River

The Tenny River is special because it doesn't drop much in height. It starts at 278 feet (85 m) above sea level at Crescent Lake. Then, it flows into Panther Pond, which is just one foot lower at 277 feet (84 m) above sea level.

Where Does the Water Go?

Even though the Tenny River itself doesn't drop much, its water continues a journey. From Panther Pond, the water flows through a stream called Panther Run. This stream drops another 10 feet (3.0 m) into Sebago Lake.

The Tenny River is part of a larger system called the Presumpscot River watershed. A watershed is an area of land where all the water drains into a single river or lake. Eventually, the water from the Tenny River makes its way to Casco Bay. Casco Bay is a part of the huge Atlantic Ocean.
