Terminous is a small community in San Joaquin County, California. It is called a census-designated place because it's an area that the government counts for population, but it's not officially a city or town.
Terminous is special because it sits 7 feet (2.1 m) below sea level. It is located on the Terminous Tract, which is an island in the Sacramento–San Joaquin River Delta. In 2010, about 381 people lived there. The name "Terminous" comes from its location at the "terminus," or end, of a road.
