Terrell Antoine Fletcher (born September 14, 1973) is a former professional football player. He played as a running back for the San Diego Chargers in the National Football League (NFL) for eight years. A running back is a player who primarily carries the ball or catches passes.
Terrell Fletcher played college football for the Wisconsin Badgers at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His team won the 1994 Rose Bowl, a very important college football game. In 1995, he was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the Hall of Fame Outback Bowl. During his time with the Chargers, he ran for 1,871 yards and caught passes for 1,943 yards. He was the top running back for the Chargers in terms of catches for five years in a row, from 1996 to 2000. Terrell is also the older brother of Bryan Fletcher, who played as a tight end for the Indianapolis Colts. On November 4, 2001, Terrell Fletcher caught the very first pass completed by famous quarterback Drew Brees in an NFL game.

Early Life and Education
Terrell Fletcher finished high school at Hazelwood East High School in Hazelwood, Missouri in 1991. He was the first person in his family to go to college. He earned a bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 1998. Later, in 2003, Fletcher received a master's degree in Religious Studies from Southern California Seminary. He also has a special doctorate degree in Transformational Leadership, which he earned in 2018 from Bakke Graduate University.
College Football Career
Terrell Fletcher had a strong college career playing for the Wisconsin Badgers.
- In 1991, he ran for 446 yards and scored 4 touchdowns. He also caught 17 passes for 125 yards and 1 touchdown.
- In 1992, he ran for 496 yards.
- In 1993, he had a great year, rushing for 996 yards and scoring 9 touchdowns.
- His best year was 1994, when he ran for 1,476 yards and scored 12 touchdowns. He also caught 23 passes for 180 yards.
Professional Football Career
Joining the San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers chose Terrell Fletcher in the second round of the 1995 NFL draft. He was the 51st player picked overall. In 1996, the Chargers re-signed him to continue playing for the team.
In the 2000 season, Fletcher was the leading rusher for the Chargers, running for 384 yards. He was the last player to lead the Chargers in rushing yards, other than the famous player LaDainian Tomlinson, until 2010.
The Chargers released Fletcher in 2001 to make space for a new player, but he quickly signed a new contract to return to the team. In 2002, he played in only 10 games because of an ankle injury. On February 27, 2003, the Chargers released Fletcher again.
Terrell Fletcher was especially good at catching passes from the backfield. He led all Chargers running backs in receptions for five years in a row, from 1996 to 2000. In 1996, he was second on the team with 61 catches. When he left the Chargers, he was 13th in the team's history for rushing yards (1,871 yards) and 9th for total catches (259 receptions).

Personal Life
Terrell Fletcher is an ordained Bishop and Senior Pastor for City of Hope International Church in San Diego, California. He served in this role from March 2012 until June 2023.
In 2007, Fletcher married actress and businesswoman Sheree Zampino. Through this marriage, he became the stepfather to her son. The couple divorced in 2015. In 2018, Fletcher married Kavalya Young. They have three children together: a daughter named Kya, and fraternal twins, a son named Kingston and a daughter named Kory.
