Terry played for teams like the Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, Washington Wizards, and Denver Nuggets. Before joining the NBA, he played college basketball for the Virginia Union Panthers.

College Years at Virginia Union
Terry Davis played college basketball for four seasons, from 1985 to 1989. For three of those seasons, he was a starting player for his team. In his final year, he was really good, scoring about 22.3 points and grabbing 11.9 rebounds in each game.
Starting in the NBA: Miami Heat
Terry Davis began his NBA career in the 1989–90 season. He was not chosen in the draft but joined the Miami Heat as a free agent. This was only the Heat's second year in the NBA. Terry played in 63 games during his first season. In the next season (1990–91), he played in fewer games (55) but managed to score and rebound more per game.
Time with the Dallas Mavericks
On August 6, 1991, Terry Davis joined the Dallas Mavericks. In his first season with the Mavericks, he was one of the best rebounders in the NBA. He grabbed an average of 9.9 rebounds per game, which was the 15th highest in the league that season. After another strong season in 1992–93, Terry faced some challenges. He had injuries in his next three seasons with the team, which affected how well he played.
Playing for the Washington Wizards
