Teyonah Parris (born September 22, 1987) is an American actress. She went to the Juilliard School and started her acting career in 2010.
She became well-known for her roles in the TV show Mad Men (from 2012 to 2015) and the movie Dear White People (2014). Teyonah also appeared in the TV series Empire (2014) and the film Chi-Raq (2015) directed by Spike Lee. She also starred in the drama movie If Beale Street Could Talk (2018).
In 2021, Parris starred in the horror film Candyman. She also began playing Monica Rambeau in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Her first appearance as Monica was in the Disney+ series WandaVision. She has also been in the comedy series No Good Deed (2024).

Teyonah Parris was born on September 22, 1987. She grew up in Hopkins, South Carolina. She went to Lower Richland High School for her first two years.
Then, she was accepted into the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts & Humanities. She finished her last two years of high school there. After that, she went to and graduated from the famous Juilliard School.
Acting Career Highlights
Teyonah Parris first appeared on television in 2010. She had a small role in the show The Good Wife. In 2012, she got a regular role in the AMC drama series Mad Men. She played a character named Dawn Chambers. This was important because she was the first main African American character on Mad Men.

In 2014, Teyonah had a big role in the independent movie Dear White People. This film helped her become more widely known. Later that year, she started starring in the Starz comedy series Survivor's Remorse.
