Her Comedy Career

Thanyia started doing stand-up comedy in 2012. She quickly became popular. In 2013, she won an award for Best Female Newcomer at the UK Black Comedy Awards. Later, in 2018, she won the Funny Women contest. This was a big achievement! You might have seen her on the TV show Mock the Week, where comedians make jokes about the news.

Acting Roles

Besides comedy, Thanyia is also an actress. She had a role in the children's TV show Jamie Johnson. She also appeared in other TV series like Pure and The Duchess.

Other Work

Thanyia also teaches workshops at the Bernie Grant Arts Centre. She helps others learn about performing. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, many shows were cancelled. Thanyia finally performed at the famous Edinburgh Fringe in August 2022.
