"That's How You Know" is a fun song from the 2007 Disney movie Enchanted. Alan Menken wrote the music, and Stephen Schwartz wrote the words.

The song is sung by Amy Adams, who plays the main character in the film. You can also hear Marlon Saunders and other singers in the background. This song is part of the Enchanted movie soundtrack, which came out on November 20, 2007.

The song was created to be like a tribute and a playful copy of older Disney songs. It reminds people of big musical scenes from movies like "Under the Sea" from The Little Mermaid and "Be Our Guest" from Beauty and the Beast. Interestingly, Alan Menken also wrote the music for those famous songs!

Since it was released, "That's How You Know" has been very popular. Many people and critics think it's the best song in the movie. It was nominated for several awards, including Best Song at the 13th Critics' Choice Awards and Best Original Song at the 65th Golden Globe Awards. It also received a nomination at the 80th Academy Awards (the Oscars) for Best Original Song. Two other songs from Enchanted were also nominated that year! The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for songs written for movies or TV.

What Happens in the Movie

In Enchanted, the song is sung by Giselle, played by Amy Adams. She is walking through Central Park with Robert, played by Patrick Dempsey. Giselle is surprised that Robert has been with his girlfriend, Nancy (Idina Menzel), for five years but hasn't asked her to marry him.

Giselle then starts to sing to show Robert how he should express his love for Nancy. As she sings and dances through the park, more and more people join her. These include street performers, a steel drum band, older dancers, and rollerbladers.

They all follow Giselle to Bethesda Fountain, where they finish the song together. This big musical scene is like other famous movie numbers. It's similar to "Thank You Very Much" from Scrooge and "Consider Yourself" from Oliver!. The song in Oliver! also features many different people dancing before a big group dance.
