The Adventures of Raggedy Ann and Andy is a fun American animated TV show. It was shown on CBS from September 17, 1988, to September 1, 1990. The show is based on the famous dolls, Raggedy Ann and Andy, created by Johnny Gruelle. CBS made this series to celebrate the dolls' 70th birthday! The show stopped airing in 1990. However, CBS did show reruns in August 1991.

What's the Show About?

The story is about a little girl named Marcella. Her dolls, Raggedy Ann and Andy, come to life when no humans are in her bedroom. They are then taken to a magical, parallel world. Their mission is to save the people there from a bad but not-so-smart wizard named Cracklin.

Other stuffed animals help Ann and Andy on their adventures. These include Grouchy Bear, a panda with a pretend British accent, and Sunny Bunny, a stuffed rabbit. Sometimes, modern toys like robots or toy soldiers also join them. The toys often help children in different places and times. This could be in Ancient Egypt or with a Native American tribe. The cartoon was made for younger viewers. It was different from many 1980s cartoons. It did not always have a clear "lesson" at the end. However, one episode did talk a little about protecting animals. Raggedy Ann and her friends had to save rare unicorns. People wanted to steal their horns for bad reasons.
