The Gingerbread Man is a fun stop-motion animated TV show for children. It's all about a gingerbread man and his friends. They live in a kitchen and come to life when the "Big Ones" (the humans) are asleep.
The show was created by David Wood. He based it on his own musical play called The Gingerbread Man. This play first opened in 1976 and became very popular around the world. The story itself was inspired by an old 19th-century fairy tale also called "The Gingerbread Man."
The Gingerbread Man TV series was made by two companies, FilmFair and Central Independent Television, in 1991. It was shown on ITV in 1992. Many famous voices brought the characters to life. Andrew Sachs voiced the Gingerbread Man, Mr. Salt, Herr Von Cuckoo, and Sleek The Mouse. Jacqueline Clarke was the voice of Miss Pepper and Old Tea Bag. You might also recognize the voice of Anton Rodgers as the narrator, even though he wasn't officially credited.
