The Innominate is a cool mountain peak in the Bighorn Mountains! It's located in the state of Wyoming in the United States. This mountain stands tall at about 12,761 feet (or 3,890 meters) high.
The Innominate is part of a special area called the Cloud Peak Wilderness. This wilderness is inside the Bighorn National Forest. It's a protected place where nature is kept wild and beautiful.
What Makes The Innominate Special?
The top of The Innominate is on a sharp, knife-like ridge. This kind of ridge is called an arête. Imagine a narrow, rocky wall connecting two peaks!
Nearby Peaks and Features
Just a short distance away, about 0.30 miles (or 0.48 kilometers) to the northwest, you'll find Mount Woolsey. Mount Woolsey is a little bit taller than The Innominate.
There's also a small glacier near The Innominate. A glacier is a huge, slow-moving river of ice. This one sits below the arête on the eastern side of the mountain.
First Climbers of The Innominate
People have been climbing The Innominate for a long time! The first known climb happened in 1933. A group of climbers, including W. B. Willcox, were the first to reach its summit.
