The Invester (born 1969, died 2002) was a very special Quarter Horse stallion. He was famous for being great at two types of horse shows: halter and western pleasure. He also became a very important father (sire) to many other successful western pleasure horses.

The Invester's Early Life

The Invester was born in 1969. He was a sorrel horse, which means he had a reddish-brown coat. His father was a famous horse named Zippo Pat Bars. His mother was Hank's Peppy Lou.

A man named Jerry Wells bought The Invester when he was just a baby horse (a weanling) in 1969. Jerry Wells thought The Invester was a beautiful horse. He described him as "cherry-red sorrel" with strong legs and a good mind. The horse's first name was Hank Lou Bars, but Jerry Wells changed it to The Invester. This new name was officially registered with the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA).

Show Ring Success

The Invester had a very successful career in horse shows. He won several important awards from the AQHA. These included the AQHA Superior Halter Horse award and the AQHA Championship. He also earned an AQHA Performance Register of Merit.

He competed in many different events. These included Halter, Cutting, English Pleasure, Western Pleasure, and Reining. Even though he was best known for halter shows, he almost made it to the finals in a big cutting competition in 1972. He missed it by just one point!

Amazing Offspring

The Invester became a very important father horse. Many of his children (offspring) grew up to be champions too. Some of his famous offspring include The Appraiser, Double Vested, Vested Pine, and Impulsions.

Two of his children, The Big Investment and Impulsions, were even honored in the National Snaffle Bit Horse Hall of Fame. One of his grandchildren, January Investment, also joined them. In 1980, The Invester's children took the top four spots in a major western pleasure competition called the All American Quarter Horse Congress Two-Year-Old Western Pleasure Futurity. This showed how amazing his genes were!

Honors and Legacy

The Invester was a very special horse. He was only the second Quarter Horse stallion to be "syndicated." This means many people owned shares of him, like a team owning a sports player.

In 1994, he was honored by being inducted into the National Snaffle Bit Association Hall of Fame. The Invester lived a long life and passed away peacefully on February 28, 2002, due to old age. His legacy continued even after his death. In 2004, he was inducted into the prestigious AQHA Hall of Fame. This is one of the highest honors a Quarter Horse can receive.
