The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures is an exciting action-adventure video game created by Nintendo. It was released for the Nintendo GameCube game console. In Japan, it is known as Zelda no Densetsu: Yottsu no Tsurugi Plus. This game is part of the very popular The Legend of Zelda series.

About the Game

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures lets you play as Link, the hero of Hyrule. The game mixes action, puzzles, and exploration. It is special because it focuses on a unique multiplayer experience. Up to four players can join in the adventure together.

Story and Characters

The story begins when Princess Zelda senses trouble. She asks Link to help her investigate. They go to the Four Sword Sanctuary, but a dark version of Link, called Shadow Link, appears. Shadow Link captures the Maidens and Princess Zelda.

To save them, Link pulls the Four Sword from its pedestal. This magical sword splits Link into four different versions of himself. Each Link wears a different colored tunic: green, red, blue, and purple. Together, these four Links must work as a team. They travel across Hyrule to defeat Shadow Link and rescue Zelda.

How to Play

This game is unique because it uses both the Nintendo GameCube and the Game Boy Advance. Each player needs a Game Boy Advance and a special cable to connect it to the GameCube. The GameCube shows the main game world on the TV. Each Game Boy Advance acts as a controller and also shows a personal screen for each player.

When the Links are close together, they appear on the TV. But if a Link goes into a building or a cave, their action moves to their own Game Boy Advance screen. This makes for a fun and different way to play.

Single-Player Mode

Even if you play alone, you still control all four Links. You can switch between controlling all of them at once or just one at a time. When you control all four, they move in a special diamond shape. You need to use their combined power to solve puzzles and fight enemies.

Multiplayer Fun

The game truly shines in multiplayer mode. Up to four friends can play together. Each player controls one of the colored Links. Teamwork is very important to solve puzzles and defeat bosses. For example, you might need all four Links to push a heavy block or activate switches at the same time.

Sometimes, players might compete to collect the most Force Gems. These gems are important for powering up the Four Sword. This adds a friendly competition to the cooperative gameplay.

Gameplay Features

The game is divided into different levels or "stages." Each stage has its own challenges, enemies, and puzzles. You will explore forests, deserts, mountains, and dungeons. Along the way, you will find items and weapons to help you.

Items and Weapons

Just like other Zelda games, you will find many useful items. These include bombs to blow up walls, the boomerang to stun enemies, and the bow and arrows for long-range attacks. Many puzzles require using these items in clever ways, often needing all four Links to cooperate.

Force Gems

Throughout the game, you collect Force Gems. These gems are like the currency and power source in this adventure. Collecting enough Force Gems helps to power up the Four Sword. This is crucial for defeating Shadow Link and restoring peace to Hyrule.
