The Lion The Witch & The Wardrobe was a special TV show from 1967. It was based on the famous fantasy book by C. S. Lewis. The book is called The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. This TV version had ten parts, like a mini-series. It was shown on the ITV channel in the United Kingdom.
Making the TV Show
This TV series was created by Pamela Lonsdale. Trevor Preston helped turn the book into a script for television. Paul Lewis wrote all the music you hear in the show. Neville Green was in charge of designing the costumes and how the show looked.
The show was made by a company called ABC Television. They made it for the ITV network. In the show, all the animals were played by actors wearing costumes. This was similar to how a later TV version by the BBC also showed the animals. Sadly, only two episodes of this 1967 series still exist today. These are the first and eighth episodes.
