What Happens in the Episode

Elon Musk, a real-life inventor, lands his special spacecraft called a Dragon 2 in the Simpson family's backyard. He tells the family he is looking for new ideas. Homer takes Elon to the power plant where he works. Elon believes Homer can give him many great new ideas.

Elon then meets Mr. Burns, who owns the power plant. Elon talks to Mr. Burns about adding new machines to the plant. These machines would help the plant be more environmentally friendly. Mr. Burns agrees to the idea and shares the news with the town.

New Inventions in Springfield

Elon creates many new machines around the town. These inventions are designed to save or create electrical energy. For example, he builds a super-fast transportation system called a Hyperloop. He also introduces self-driving cars to Springfield.

However, Mr. Burns soon learns that these new machines are very expensive. The town will lose about $50 million every three months because of them. Because of this, Mr. Burns has to fire some of his employees at the power plant.

Homer is sad because his friends lost their jobs due to Elon's inventions. The next day, Mr. Burns tries to harm Elon. Elon quickly stops a bullet from hitting him or Homer. Homer thanks Elon but tells him they should not be friends anymore.

Elon agrees and prepares to leave in his rocket. He gives Lisa a special birdhouse so she won't be sad. Elon then starts his rocket and flies back to outer space.
