Thielle-Wavre was once a small town, known as a municipality, located in the beautiful country of Switzerland. It was part of the canton of Neuchâtel. Think of a canton like a state or a large region within Switzerland.
What Was Thielle-Wavre?
Thielle-Wavre was a small community that played a part in the history of the Neuchâtel canton. A municipality is like a local government area, similar to a town or city. It had its own local leaders and managed its own services for the people living there.
Where Was It Located?
This former municipality was found in the Neuchâtel district. It was located in the western part of Switzerland, known for its stunning lakes and mountains.
Becoming La Tène
On January 1, 2009, Thielle-Wavre joined with another nearby municipality called Marin-Epagnier. They merged together to form a brand new municipality named La Tène. This kind of merger happens when smaller towns decide to combine their resources and populations to create a larger, often more efficient, community.
Montmirail Hamlet
Within the area that used to be Thielle-Wavre, there is a small village or hamlet called Montmirail. A hamlet is usually smaller than a village and often doesn't have its own local government.
