Changes Over Time

Sometimes, smaller towns or villages decide to join together to form a larger municipality. This is called a merger. Here are some changes that happened in the Neuchâtel District:

  • On 1 January 1966, the municipality of Landeron-Combes changed its name to Le Landeron.
  • On 1 January 2009, two municipalities, Marin-Epagnier and Thielle-Wavre, merged to create a new, bigger municipality called La Tène.
