Thom Evans (born on April 2, 1985) is a Scottish former professional rugby union player and model. He played as a wing for the Glasgow Warriors team. Thom's rugby career ended when he was 24 years old due to a serious neck injury.

Thom's Rugby Journey
Thom Evans was born in 1985 in Harare, Zimbabwe. He went to school in England at Windlesham House School and Wellington College, Berkshire.
He first played for the Scottish national rugby team in June 2008. This is called earning a "cap." He was also chosen for the team that played in the 2008 Six Nations Championship.
Before playing for Scotland, Thom represented England in younger age groups (Under 16, Under 18, and Under 21). He later decided to play for Scotland's "A" team and their Sevens team.
A Serious Injury
In a game against Wales on February 13, 2010, Thom had a bad accident. He collided with another player and suffered a severe neck injury. He was taken off the field and rushed to the hospital.
He had two operations to help stabilize his spine. Doctors said his neck bones were so out of place that he was very close to being paralyzed or even dying. After four months of recovery, Thom had to stop playing rugby on July 1, 2010, because of his injury.
Thom officially announced his retirement from rugby later that year. He then shared his goal to try sprinting as an athlete.
Life After Rugby
In 2012, Thom started training as a sprinter. He competed in indoor races and achieved his best time of 7.20 seconds in the 60-meter race. He also ran his fastest times in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. However, by the end of that year, Thom decided not to continue with athletics. Instead, he chose to pursue an acting career.
Media and TV Appearances
After his rugby career, Thom Evans became involved in media.
- In 2011, he worked as an analyst for ITV's coverage of the 2011 Rugby World Cup.
- In September 2014, Thom was a contestant on the BBC show Strictly Come Dancing. He danced with professional dancer Iveta Lukosiute but was voted off in the fifth week.
- In 2016, he took part in Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls. This TV show challenged celebrities to survive on a remote island. Thom left the island early because he found it hard to deal with the lack of food.
- In October 2019, Thom was on The X Factor: Celebrity. He was part of a music group called Try Star, along with Levi Davis and Ben Foden. They made it to the semi-finals of the competition.
Personal Life
Thom Evans has a brother named Max, who also played rugby for Scotland and the Glasgow Warriors. They are one of only twenty sets of brothers to have played together for the Scottish national team.
In 2011, Thom appeared on cereal boxes for Scott's Porage Oats with other rugby players, Chris Paterson and Ross Ford.
Thom is also a cousin of the famous disc jockey and TV presenter, Chris Evans.
Relationships
In January 2020, news came out that Thom Evans was dating singer Nicole Scherzinger. They had met the year before on The X Factor: Celebrity. In June 2023, it was reported that Thom and Nicole became engaged.
