What is ThunderCats Roar About?
The story begins when the ThunderCats barely escape their home planet, Thundera, which is suddenly destroyed. Their spaceship crash-lands on a strange and exciting planet called Third Earth.
Lion-O, who is the new leader of the ThunderCats, tries to guide his team as they make Third Earth their new home. But many weird creatures and bad guys get in their way. The main villain is the evil Mumm-Ra, who rules Third Earth and doesn't want anyone, especially the ThunderCats, to stop him.
Meet the Characters
The show features a group of heroes and villains.
The ThunderCats Heroes
- Lion-O (voiced by Max Mittelman) – He's a Thunderian who looks like a lion. He's the new leader of the ThunderCats but still acts a bit like a kid. In this show, he has a twin sister named Lion-S, who is a wanted criminal.
- Tygra (voiced by Patrick Seitz) – A tiger-themed Thunderian. He's the serious and most grown-up member of the team. He also likes to keep things very clean.
- Cheetara (voiced by Erica Lindbeck) – She's a cheetah-themed Thunderian and the fastest member of the team. She's also a professional athlete.
- Panthro (voiced by Chris Jai Alex) – A panther-themed Thunderian. He's the strongest and smartest member of the team.
- WilyKit (voiced by Erica Lindbeck) – She's a wildcat-themed Thunderian and one of the "ThunderKittens." She's WilyKat's twin sister. In this show, she's a tomboy who loves fighting and having fun.
- WilyKat (voiced by Max Mittelman) – He's also a wildcat-themed Thunderian and the other half of the ThunderKittens. He's WilyKit's twin brother and is the more mature one. He carries chemical capsules.
- Snarf (voiced by Victor Courtright) – He's the team's mascot and Lion-O's pet. In ThunderCats Roar, Snarf is a robot animal and might be the smartest of the ThunderCats.
- Jaga (voiced by Larry Kenney) – A jaguar-themed Thunderian. He was the ThunderCats' wise teacher who passed away. He narrates the first episode. Later, he gets free from the Astral Plane to tell the ThunderCats about Thundera's destruction.
The Villains
- Mumm-Ra (voiced by Patrick Seitz) – He's an ancient mummy sorcerer and the main bad guy. He ruled Third Earth for hundreds of years. The ThunderCats weakened him by breaking his staff. Now, he tries to get his full power back using magic items and help from the Mutants.
- Mutants – These are a group of creatures from the planet Plun-Darr who work with Mumm-Ra.
- Slithe (voiced by Trevor Devall) – The leader of the Mutants. He looks like a big lizard man with sharp teeth.
- Jackalman (voiced by Andrew Kishino) – The most silly and energetic Mutant. He looks like a human-like jackal.
- Monkian (voiced by Jim Meskimen) – The strongest Mutant. He looks like a human-like white ape and loves to smash things.
- Vultureman (voiced by Dana Snyder) – The Mutants' tech expert and pilot. He looks like a human-like vulture.
- Ratar-O (voiced by Crispin Freeman) – The rat-like ruler of the Mutants. He fought Jaga before Thundera exploded.
- Ancient Spirits of Evil (voiced by Chris Jai Alex) – These evil spirits help Mumm-Ra become "Mumm-Ra the Ever-Living." They are not as smart as in other versions of the show.
- Driller (voiced by Stephen Tobolowsky) – A robot villain who needs to drill for diamonds to power himself. Unlike the original show, he becomes a friend to the ThunderCats.
- Molly Lava (voiced by Kaitlyn Robrock) – A space criminal who can turn into a lava monster.
- Berserkers – These are robot pirates who look like Vikings. They will do anything for gold.
- Hammerhead (voiced by Trevor Devall) – The captain of the Berserkers. He has a robot arm that can punch very hard.
- Safari Joe (voiced by Trevor Devall) – A hunter from space who likes to catch big game.
- Lion-S (voiced by Laila Berzins) – A lion-themed Thunderian and a wanted criminal. She is Lion-O's twin sister.
- Spidera – The queen of the spiders.
- The Lunataks – A group of six demon-like creatures.
- Mongor (voiced by Andrew Morgado) – A goat-like demon that gets stronger from fear.
- Swampy Johnny (voiced by Robbie Daymond) – An aquatic villain who looks like Elvis Presley. He floods planets.
- Eclipsorr – The boss of a company that tries to steal the sun's energy.
- Grune (voiced by Thundercat) – A saber-toothed tiger-themed Thunderian who was trapped in a crystal prison.
