Timothy Brown (born October 25, 1984) is an American former football player. He played as a running back and kick returner in the Canadian Football League (CFL).

A running back carries the ball and tries to gain yards. A kick returner catches kicks from the other team. Then, they run the ball back as far as possible.

Tim signed with the BC Lions in 2011. He helped them win the Grey Cup championship in his first year. In 2012, he was named a West Division All-Star. This means he was one of the best players in his division. He also won the West Division's Most Outstanding Special Teams Player award. Tim played for the Lions for four years. He also played one year with the Calgary Stampeders. He played college football for the Temple Owls.

Professional Career

Playing for the Billings Outlaws

After college, Tim Brown was not chosen in the main NFL draft. He signed with the Sioux City Bandits in 2008. Later that year, he moved to the Billings Outlaws. He played for the Outlaws for three seasons. During this time, he won two Indoor Football League championships. These were in 2009 and 2010.

Playing for the BC Lions

Tim Brown joined the BC Lions as a free agent on May 17, 2011. A free agent is a player who can sign with any team. At the end of the 2012 season, Tim was named a West Division All-Star. He was also second in the CFL for "all-purpose yards." This means he gained a lot of yards from running, catching, and returning kicks.

He had 2,687 all-purpose yards that year. This included 2,382 yards from returning kicks. He also had 914 yards from returning punts. This was the second-highest in the CFL in 2012. He was also third in kickoff return yards and fourth in missed field goal return yards. His total all-purpose yards in 2012 were the second-highest in the Lions' history.

In December 2012, he signed a new contract with the Lions. Overall, Tim played in 52 regular season games for the Lions. He had 3,987 kick return yards and scored one kick return touchdown. He also had 2,404 punt return yards and scored four punt return touchdowns. After four seasons, the Lions released him on May 25, 2015.

Playing for the Calgary Stampeders

On June 16, 2015, Tim Brown signed with the Calgary Stampeders. He played with this team for one year. He was released by the Stampeders on January 12, 2016.
