Tim Daniel was born on September 14, 1969. He is a former American football player who played as a wide receiver. A wide receiver is a player whose main job is to catch passes thrown by the quarterback. Tim played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He was also picked by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1992 NFL draft. Before playing professionally, he played college football at Florida A&M University. He even won two Super Bowl championships with the Dallas Cowboys!

Early Life and College Football

Tim Daniel went to Benjamin Elijah Mays High School. While there, he was a star in both football and track and field. He earned special honors for his skills in both sports during his senior year.

After high school, Tim went to Florida A&M University. He joined the football team as a "walk-on," which means he wasn't given a scholarship right away. In his first year, he mostly helped block for other players.

In the years before Tim joined, the team mostly focused on running the ball. They didn't pass much. But then, a new quarterback named Antoine "Tony" Ezell joined the team. He became the school's best passer ever. With Tony, the team started passing the ball a lot more.

As a sophomore, Tim started to show what he could do as a receiver. He caught 12 passes for 198 yards and scored one touchdown. A touchdown is when a player carries or catches the ball in the opponent's end zone, scoring points.

In 1990, Tim became a key player for the team. He was known as a "deep threat," meaning he could run fast and catch long passes. He caught 19 passes for 512 yards. He also led his conference by averaging 26.9 yards per catch. This helped his team, the Rattlers, win their first Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference championship. They had a perfect 6-0 record in conference games.

Tim had his best college game against Delaware State University. He set a school record by catching 4 passes for 152 yards and 2 touchdowns. One of his touchdowns was a 98-yard catch, which was one of the longest in his school's history!

In his senior year, Tim continued to shine. He caught 30 passes, which was his highest number in a single season. He also led the team with 580 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns. In his very last college game, he caught 9 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown.

Overall, in his college career, Tim Daniel caught 61 passes for 1,290 yards and 7 touchdowns. He averaged over 21 yards per catch. His great play helped his team have four winning seasons in a row.

Professional Football Career

Dallas Cowboys

In 1992, the Dallas Cowboys picked Tim Daniel in the 11th round of the NFL draft. The NFL draft is where professional teams choose new players from college. The Cowboys were interested in Tim because of his amazing speed. He could run 40 yards in just 4.38 seconds!

However, in his first year, Tim got hurt. He injured his right hamstring during a practice camp. Because of this, he couldn't play at all that year. He was placed on a special list for players who are unable to perform.

In 1993, Tim made it onto the Cowboys' main team roster. But he was listed as "inactive" for every game, meaning he didn't play. Even though he didn't play, he was part of the team that won Super Bowl XXVIII that season! He had also been with the team when they won Super Bowl XXVII the year before. He was re-signed by the Cowboys in July 1994 but was later released in August.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers

After his time with the Cowboys, Tim Daniel moved to Canada. He played for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in the Canadian Football League (CFL) from 1994 to 1995. During his time with the Blue Bombers, he gained 1,091 "all-purpose yards" and scored 4 touchdowns. All-purpose yards include yards from catching passes, running with the ball, and returning kicks.
