Tim Jennings's Football Journey

Playing for the Indianapolis Colts

The Indianapolis Colts drafted Tim Jennings in 2006. He was part of the team that won Super Bowl XLI in his first year. From 2006 to 2009, Jennings played in 53 games. During this time, he made four interceptions.

Playing for the Chicago Bears

Joining the Bears in 2010

In 2010, Jennings joined the Chicago Bears. He quickly became a starting player in coach Lovie Smith's defense. That year, he scored a touchdown by returning an interception against the Buffalo Bills. This helped the Bears win 22–19.

Tim was also part of the Bears team that reached the 2010 NFC Championship Game. They almost made it to Super Bowl XLV.

Becoming a Star in 2011 and 2012

In 2011, Jennings had some tough games. But he worked hard and became one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. He and Charles Tillman formed a strong team. They were known as one of the best cornerback duos in the league.

In March 2012, the Bears signed Jennings to a new contract. He then played against his old team, the Colts. In that game, he intercepted Andrew Luck twice. This was the first time he had two interceptions in one game. The next week, he intercepted Aaron Rodgers.

After three weeks in 2012, Jennings made history for the Bears. He was the first player since 1986 to get an interception in four games in a row. He was named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month for September. He led the NFL with nine interceptions that season. This made him the first Bears player since 1990 to lead the league in interceptions. Jennings was also chosen for his first Pro Bowl. He was named to the second team of the 2012 All-Pro Team.

More Success in 2013

In 2013, Jennings continued to play well. He had four interceptions, which was the second-highest in his career. Over two seasons, he had 13 interceptions. This was one of the best totals in the league.

In January 2014, the Bears signed him to a new four-year contract. He was also named to the 2014 Pro Bowl roster. This made him the second Bears cornerback to go to two Pro Bowls in a row.

Leaving the Bears in 2015

On August 30, 2015, the Bears released Tim Jennings.
