Tim Pütz (born November 19, 1987) is a tennis player from Germany. He is really good at playing doubles tennis. He reached his highest doubles ranking of world No. 6 on February 17, 2025.
Tim has won eleven doubles titles on the ATP Tour, which are major tennis tournaments. In 2024, he won the ATP Finals with his partner Kevin Krawietz. They were the first all-German team to win this big title. Tim also won the 2023 French Open in mixed doubles with Miyu Kato. He was a finalist at the 2024 US Open with Kevin Krawietz.
He also reached the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2023. In singles, which is playing by yourself, his highest ranking was No. 163 in February 2015. He even reached the second round at Wimbledon in 2014.
Tim has played for Germany in the Davis Cup since 2017. His team reached the semifinals in 2021 and 2024. He also played in the Olympics in 2021 and 2024 with Kevin Krawietz, reaching the quarterfinals in 2024.

Tim Pütz's Tennis Journey
Starting His Professional Career (2014–2017)
Tim Pütz played his first main singles match on the ATP Tour at Wimbledon in 2014. He had to qualify first, and then he won his first match against Teymuraz Gabashvili. He lost in the next round.
In 2017, Tim played in the 2017 Davis Cup for the first time. He helped the German team win against Portugal. He and his partner Jan-Lennard Struff won their doubles match, which helped Germany move forward.
First Big Wins and Grand Slam Quarterfinals (2018–2020)
In 2018, Tim and Jan-Lennard Struff won another important doubles match in the Davis Cup against Australia. This helped Germany win the overall match. They also won their doubles match in the quarterfinals against Spain, but Germany lost the tie.
In June 2018, Tim won his first doubles title on the ATP Tour. This happened at the Stuttgart Open in Germany. He won with Philipp Petzschner.
In May 2019, Tim won his second doubles title. He teamed up with Frederik Nielsen at the Bavarian International Tennis Championships in Munich.
Tim reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal at the 2020 French Open with Frederik Nielsen. They played well but lost to the top-ranked team.
Winning Big Titles and Reaching Top Rankings (2021–2022)
In 2021, Tim won his third doubles title at the Estoril Open with Hugo Nys. He then reached the semifinals of a Masters 1000 tournament, the Madrid Open, with Alexander Zverev.
Later in May, Tim won his fourth doubles title at the Lyon Open, again with Hugo Nys. They also reached the quarterfinals of the French Open.
In July 2021, Tim played in the Tokyo Olympics for the first time with Kevin Krawietz.
Tim won his fifth title at the Hamburg European Open with Michael Venus. He and Michael also reached the semifinals at the Indian Wells Masters. Tim then won his first ATP Masters 1000 title at the Paris Masters with Michael Venus. Because of these wins, he reached a new high ranking of No. 17 in doubles in November 2021.
In 2022, Tim and Michael Venus reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. On March 21, 2022, Tim entered the top 10 doubles players for the first time, ranking No. 9. After reaching the final at the Cincinnati Masters with Michael Venus, he reached his career-high ranking of world No. 7 in doubles on August 29, 2022.
New Partners and Grand Slam Mixed Doubles Title (2023)
In 2023, Tim Pütz won his first Grand Slam tournament! He won the French Open mixed doubles championship with Miyu Kato.
At the same tournament, he reached the quarterfinals in men's doubles for the third time. He was playing with his new partner, Kevin Krawietz. They won against a team that had beaten them before. They eventually lost to the champions of that tournament.
Tim and Kevin Krawietz reached the semifinals of a Major tournament for the first time at the Wimbledon Championships. They also won their first title together at the Hamburg European Open.
US Open Finalist and ATP Finals Champion (2024)
At the Australian Open in 2024, Tim and Kevin Krawietz reached the quarterfinals. They also made it to the semifinals at the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.
In July 2024, they won the title at the Hamburg Open in Germany, which they had also won the year before.
Tim and Kevin Krawietz played for Germany at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where they reached the quarterfinals.
Tim reached his first Grand Slam final with Kevin Krawietz at the US Open. They beat several strong teams to get there.
In his first time playing in the main competition at the ATP Finals with Kevin Krawietz, he reached the semifinals. They became the first all-German team to reach the semifinals and then the final in ATP Finals history. They also became the first No. 8 seeds to reach the doubles final, which they won in straight sets.
Recent Matches (2025)
Tim Pütz and Kevin Krawietz reached the final at the Adelaide International in January 2025. They lost a very close match. In April 2025, they reached the final of the Bavarian Championships but lost. In June 2025, they won the title at the Halle Open in Germany.
