Kevin Krawietz (born January 24, 1992) is a German professional tennis player. He is best known for playing in doubles matches. Kevin reached his highest doubles ranking of world No. 7 in November 2019.

He has won eleven doubles titles on the ATP Tour. This includes the 2024 ATP Finals with his partner Tim Pütz. They were the first all-German team to win this important title. Kevin is also a two-time Grand Slam champion. He won the French Open in 2019 and 2020 with his partner Andreas Mies.

Kevin and Tim Pütz were finalists at the 2024 US Open. He also reached the mixed doubles semifinals at the 2021 Wimbledon Championships and the 2022 French Open. For these matches, he partnered with Květa Peschke and Nicole Melichar-Martinez.

In singles, Kevin reached his highest ranking of world No. 211 in December 2018. He has played for Germany in the Davis Cup since 2019. He also competed at the 2020 Olympic Games and the 2024 Olympic Games.

Becoming a Tennis Star

Early Career and Junior Success

Kevin Krawietz started his professional tennis journey in 2010. Before that, he had a great junior career. In 2009, he won a junior Grand Slam title. This was the boys' doubles tournament at the Wimbledon Championships.

He also reached another junior Grand Slam final. This was at the 2010 Australian Open in boys' doubles.

First Steps in Professional Tennis

Kevin made his first appearance in an ATP Tour event in 2009. He played at the German Open. He mostly played on the lower-level tours, like the ITF Circuit and ATP Challenger Tour, until 2017.

In 2015, he won his first Challenger doubles title. This happened at the Morocco Challenger with Maximilian Marterer.

Major Wins and Partnerships

Winning the French Open Twice

From 2018 to 2020, Kevin had a very successful period. In 2018, he reached the third round of the Wimbledon Championships in doubles. He played with his partner Andreas Mies.

Kevin won his first ATP Tour doubles title in 2019. This was at the New York Open, again with Andreas Mies. Then, they achieved something amazing. They won the 2019 French Open doubles title. They were not expected to win, but they beat the French team of Jérémy Chardy and Fabrice Martin in the final. This made them the first all-German team in the Open Era to win a Grand Slam title.

In 2019, Kevin also won his first singles match on the ATP Tour. This was at the Antalya Open. Later that year, he and Mies reached the semifinals of the 2019 US Open. They also won their third title at the European Open in Antwerp.

In 2020, Kevin and Mies did it again! They successfully defended their French Open title. They beat Mate Pavić and Bruno Soares in the final. After winning the title twice, they had not lost a single match at the French Open as a team.

New Partners and More Titles

In 2021, Kevin continued to win. He won his fifth doubles title at the Bavarian Championships with Wesley Koolhof. For the French Open, he teamed up with Horia Tecău. They won the 2021 Halle Open, which was his first title at an ATP 500 tournament.

In 2022, Kevin partnered with Andreas Mies again. They won titles at the Barcelona Open and the Bavarian Championships in Munich.

Teaming Up with Tim Pütz

In 2023, Kevin started a new partnership with Tim Pütz. They reached the semifinals of the Miami Open. They also made it to the semifinals of the Monte-Carlo Masters.

Kevin and Pütz reached the quarterfinals of the French Open. They then reached the semifinals for the first time at the Wimbledon Championships. In the same month, they won their first title together at the Hamburg European Open.

Reaching Major Finals

In 2024, Kevin and Pütz had another strong year. They reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open for the first time. They also made it to the semifinals at the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.

Kevin reached his third major final with Pütz at the US Open. They had an amazing run, beating several top teams. At the 2024 ATP Finals, they reached the semifinals. They became the first all-German team to reach the semifinals and then the final in ATP Finals history. They won the final in straight sets, becoming the first No. 8 seeds to win the doubles title.

In 2025, Krawietz and Pütz reached the final at the Adelaide International.

Representing Germany

Kevin has proudly represented Germany in team competitions. He has played in the Davis Cup since 2019. He has a very good record in Davis Cup doubles matches. He helped Germany reach the semifinals in 2021 and 2024.

He also played for Germany in the ATP Cup. He competed in the 2020, 2021, and 2022 editions of the tournament.

Grand Slam Finals

Kevin Krawietz has played in three Grand Slam doubles finals. He has won two of them and was a runner-up once.
