Kevin Krawietz (born January 24, 1992) is a professional tennis player from Germany. He is especially good at playing doubles, which is tennis with two players on each side. He reached his highest doubles ranking of world No. 5 on February 10, 2025.

Kevin has won twelve doubles titles on the ATP Tour, which is a series of professional tennis tournaments. He won the 2024 ATP Finals with his partner Tim Pütz. They were the first all-German team to win this important title. Kevin is also a two-time Grand Slam champion, winning the French Open in 2019 and 2020 with Andreas Mies.

He also reached the finals of the 2024 US Open with Tim Pütz. In mixed doubles, where a team has one male and one female player, he reached the semifinals at Wimbledon in 2021 and the French Open in 2022. He played with Květa Peschke and Nicole Melichar-Martinez in those tournaments.

In singles tennis, Kevin reached his highest ranking of world No. 211 in December 2018. He has played for Germany in the Davis Cup since 2019. He also competed in the 2020 Olympic Games and the 2024 Olympic Games.

Junior Tennis Career

When Kevin was a junior player, he won one major title. He won the boys' doubles tournament at the 2009 Wimbledon Championships. This was a big achievement for him early in his career.

Professional Tennis Journey

Starting Out: 2009–2017

Kevin started his professional tennis journey at the 2009 German Open. He got a special invitation to play, but he lost in the first round. In 2010, he played at the Bavarian Championships in Munich, where he also lost in the first round.

For many years, until 2017, Kevin mostly played in smaller tournaments. These were the ITF Circuit and the ATP Challenger Tour. In 2015, he won his first Challenger doubles title in Meknes, Morocco. He played with Maximilian Marterer for that win.

Grand Slam Wins: 2018–2020

In 2018, Kevin and his partner Andreas Mies had a great run at Wimbledon. They reached the third round as qualifiers. They almost won against the champions, but lost after having two chances to win the match.

Kevin won his first ATP Tour doubles title at the 2019 New York Open, again with Andreas Mies. Then, they made history by winning the 2019 French Open doubles title. They were not expected to win, but they beat a French team in the final. This made them the first all-German team in a very long time to win a Grand Slam title.

Kevin also won his first main singles match on the ATP Tour at the Antalya Open. Later in 2019, he and Mies reached the semifinals at the US Open. They also won their third title together at the 2019 European Open in Belgium.

In 2020, Kevin and Andreas Mies did something amazing. They won the French Open again! They beat another strong team in the final. This meant they had won the French Open twice in a row and had not lost a single match there as a team.

New Partners and More Titles: 2021–2022

In 2021, Kevin won his fifth doubles title at the Bavarian Championships in Munich. He played with Wesley Koolhof for this win. For the French Open, he teamed up with Horia Tecău. Kevin had won the French Open twice before, so he had a long winning streak there. He won 15 matches in a row before finally losing in the quarterfinals.

Kevin and Horia Tecău then won the 2021 Halle Open. This was Kevin's first title at an ATP 500 tournament, which is a higher level of competition. It was also his first title on grass courts.

In 2022, Kevin won the Barcelona Open title with Andreas Mies. Just a week later, they won another title in their home country at the Munich tournament. However, at the French Open, Kevin and Mies had an unexpected loss in the first round. This was Kevin's first doubles loss ever at that tournament.

Teaming Up with Pütz: 2023

In March 2023, Kevin reached the semifinals of the Miami Open with Fabrice Martin.

He then reached the semifinals of the 2023 Monte-Carlo Masters with his new partner, Tim Pütz. They also reached the quarterfinals of the 2023 French Open. They beat a team that had defeated them earlier in Monte-Carlo. They eventually lost to the champions in a close match.

Kevin and Tim Pütz reached the semifinals for the first time at the Wimbledon Championships. In the same month, they won their first title together at the Hamburg European Open.

Big Finals and a Major Title: 2024

At the Australian Open, Kevin and Tim Pütz reached the quarterfinals for the first time. They also made it to the semifinals at the Indian Wells Open and the Miami Open.

Kevin reached his third major final with Tim Pütz at the US Open. They had a great run, beating several top teams before reaching the final. At the 2024 ATP Finals, Kevin and Pütz reached the semifinals. They became the first all-German team to reach the semifinals and then the final of the ATP Finals. They also made history as the first No. 8 seeds to win the doubles final, beating their opponents in straight sets.

Strong Start to 2025

Kevin and Tim Pütz started 2025 by reaching the final at the Adelaide International. They lost in a very close match. They also reached the final of the Bavarian Championships in April 2025. In June 2025, they won the Halle Open for the second time.
