Timothy Jermaine Bowers, born on January 9, 1982, is an American who used to play professional basketball. He was a fantastic player, even being named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) in the Israeli Basketball Premier League in 2006. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall, he could play in different guard positions on the court.

Early Life and College Basketball
Timmy grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi. He went to Harrison Central High School there. After high school, he studied at Mississippi State University. He played college basketball for the Mississippi State Bulldogs from 2000 to 2004.
After college, he hoped to join the NBA in 2004. He signed up for the 2004 NBA draft, but he wasn't chosen by any team that year.
Professional Basketball Career
Even though he wasn't drafted into the NBA, Timmy Bowers didn't give up. He tried out with the Los Angeles Lakers Summer League Team. Then, he joined the Asheville Altitude in a league called the NBDL (which is now known as the NBA G League).
Winning a Championship
With the Asheville Altitude, Timmy helped his team win the NBDL Championship in the 2004–2005 season. This was a great start to his professional career! After that season, he played for the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Summer League.
Playing Overseas
Timmy then decided to play basketball in other countries. He moved to Israel and signed with a team called Maccabi Giv'at Shmuel. He quickly became one of the best players in the league. During the 2005–2006 season, he scored an average of 21.8 points per game. He also got 5.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game.
MVP Award
Because of his amazing performance, Timmy Bowers was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Israeli Basketball Premier League in 2006. This is a huge honor for any basketball player!
Success in Israel
After his time with Maccabi Giv'at Shmuel, Timmy joined Hapoel Jerusalem. He continued to be a key player for his new team. He helped Hapoel Jerusalem win the Israeli Basketball State Cup two times. They won the cup in the 2006–2007 season and again in the 2007–2008 season.
Playing in Europe
Timmy Bowers played for many different teams across Europe. In February 2015, he signed with Koroivos Amaliadas in the Greek Basket League. He also played for Pallacanestro Biella during the 2017–2018 season. For that team, he averaged 13.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game.
On July 18, 2018, Timmy signed with Andrea Costa Imola, a team in Italy's Serie A2 league. He continued to play professional basketball until 2020.
