College Basketball Career
Todd Mitchell was born in Toledo, Ohio. He went to Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. There, he played basketball for coach Gene Keady.
Todd and his teammate Troy Lewis helped the Boilermakers win two Big Ten Conference titles. This happened during his junior and senior years. They also reached the Sweet Sixteen in the 1988 NCAA Tournament.
Todd was named First Team All-Big Ten in both his junior and senior years. This means he was one of the best players in the Big Ten Conference.
Professional Basketball Career
Todd Mitchell was chosen by the Denver Nuggets in the 1988 NBA draft. He was the 43rd player picked overall in the second round.
He played one season in the NBA. During that season, he played for two teams: the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat. He scored about 5.1 points per game. He also got 2.1 rebounds and 0.9 assists per game.
Todd also spent time playing in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played there for parts of three seasons. In the CBA, he scored about 18.4 points per game over 92 games.
