Tom Jackson's Charitable Work

Tom Jackson is very well-known for his charitable work. A philanthropist is someone who helps others, often by giving money or time to good causes.

He started an annual series of Christmas concerts called the Huron Carole. Tom Jackson and many other Canadian singers and performers would travel across the country each year. They raised money for the Canadian Association of Food Banks, which helps people get food. An album of Christmas songs was released with the tour every year and became very popular in Canada. After 17 years, Tom decided to end the Huron Carole. In its place, he launched a new tour called Singing for Supper in 2005. This tour visited smaller communities across Canada, raising money and collecting food donations during the Christmas season.

After one of his co-stars from North of 60, Mervin Good Eagle, passed away in 1996, Tom started another special tour called the Dreamcatcher Tour.

In 1997, when his hometown was facing a huge flood, Tom helped organize concerts across Canada. These concerts raised money to help people affected by the flood.
