Tomislav Ivčić (born January 6, 1953 – died March 4, 1993) was a famous Croatian pop singer, songwriter, and even a politician. He was very popular for his catchy songs. Sadly, he passed away in a car accident. He is buried in Zagreb at the Mirogoj Cemetery.

A Talented Singer from Zadar
Tomislav Ivčić grew up in Zadar, a beautiful city in Croatia. He became one of the most loved singers and songwriters in the 1970s. He often performed at big pop music festivals. His special style was pop music inspired by the traditional sounds of Dalmatia.
Early Hits and Famous Songs
One of his first popular songs was "Nemam za kavu" from 1979. It had a cool country-rock sound. Tomislav also wrote and sang "Večeras je naša fešta." This song became like a special anthem for the Dalmatia region. People often sing it when a sports team from Dalmatia wins a big game.
A Prolific Songwriter
Tomislav Ivčić was incredibly creative. He wrote over 200 songs during his career. He also released 23 albums, which is a lot of music!

In February 1993, Tomislav Ivčić decided to try something new. He ran for a seat in the Croatian Parliament. He was a candidate for the HDZ party and he won! This was a big step for him.
A Sad Farewell
Just a few weeks before he was supposed to start his new job in parliament, a very sad event happened. Tomislav was in a car accident. He and three other people lost their lives. This was a great loss for Croatia.

Tomislav wasn't the only talented person in his family. His older half-brother, Đani Maršan, is also a well-known singer and songwriter. His other older brother, Vedran Ivčić, also sings and writes songs.
