Tommie Robinson (born April 4, 1963) is an American football coach. He currently works as the assistant running backs coach for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Playing Football
Tommie Robinson was a strong safety for the Troy Trojans football team. He played for three years and was a key player. In 1984, his team won the Division II national championship. This was a big achievement for him and his team.
Coaching Career
Tommie Robinson has had a long and successful career as a football coach. He has coached at both the high school and college levels, and even in the NFL.
High School Coaching Experience
Robinson started his coaching journey in 1986. He worked as an assistant coach at Woodham High School in Pensacola, Florida for two years. After that, he went back to his old high school, Central High School in Phenix City, Alabama. He coached there as an assistant for three years.
Coaching in College and the NFL
Robinson moved to college coaching in 1991. He started as a graduate assistant for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
Early College and NFL Roles
- Utah State Aggies (1992–1993): He coached running backs for the Utah State Aggies.
- TCU Horned Frogs (1994–1997): He then coached wide receivers for Texas Christian University.
- Dallas Cowboys (1998–2000): Robinson joined the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL. He coached wide receivers and worked with special teams. He stayed with the Cowboys for three seasons.
Moving Between College Teams
After his time in the NFL, Robinson coached at several different colleges:
- Oklahoma State Cowboys (2001): He was the running backs coach for one year.
- Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (2002–2005): He coached wide receivers in 2002, then running backs for the next three years.
- Memphis Tigers (2006): He spent one season coaching running backs for the Tigers.
- Miami Hurricanes (2007–2009): He coached running backs for the Hurricanes for three seasons.
Return to the NFL and Later College Roles
- Arizona Cardinals (2010–2012): Robinson returned to the NFL to coach running backs for the Arizona Cardinals.
- USC Trojans (2013): He became the pass game coordinator and running backs coach for the USC Trojans.
- Texas Longhorns (2014–2015): He coached running backs for the Texas Longhorns.
- USC Trojans (2016): He went back to USC as the run game coordinator and running backs coach.
- LSU Tigers (2017–2019): He joined the LSU Tigers and helped them win the national championship in 2019. He was an assistant head coach and running backs coach.
- Texas A&M Aggies (2020–2022): He coached running backs for Texas A&M.
