Tonbridge Half Marathon
Lots of runners ready to start the race!

The Tonbridge Half Marathon is a super exciting annual running event in England. It's a race where people run a long distance on roads. A "half marathon" means runners cover about 13.1 miles (or 21 kilometers).

The very first race happened on September 25, 2011. It's organized by two cool groups, the Tonbridge Lions Club and Tonbridge Rotary Club. More than 800 runners joined that first race! Famous athlete Dame Kelly Holmes even came to start the race in 2011.

The Race Route: Where Runners Go

The Tonbridge Half Marathon takes runners on a journey. They run around the roads of Tonbridge and through the beautiful countryside of Kent.

Starting Point and First Leg

The run begins at K College on Brook Street. From there, runners head out of Tonbridge. They follow roads like Molescroft Way, Upper Hayesden Lane, and Ensfield Road. This part of the race leads them to a small village called Leigh.

Through the Villages

After passing through Leigh village, runners go along the B2027 road towards Hildenborough. They then turn left onto Watts Cross Road. Next, they make a few more left turns at every junction. These turns lead them back into Leigh village.

The Finish Line

The final part of the race takes runners back through the center of Leigh village. They get back onto Ensfield Road and Hayesden Lane. Finally, they return to Brook Street, where the race started. This is where they cross the finish line!
