Antonio C. Gilbert (born October 16, 1979) is an American football coach. He used to play as a linebacker in the NFL. Tony played college football at the University of Georgia. The Arizona Cardinals picked him in the 2003 NFL draft. He also played for the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Atlanta Falcons.

Playing Career Highlights
College Football at Georgia
Tony Gilbert was a star player at the University of Georgia (UGA). In his final year, he was named to the All-Southeastern Conference second-team. He started every game as a middle linebacker.
Tony led his team with 114 tackles, which was his best ever. He also made 2.5 sacks and caused 15 plays where the other team lost yards. He forced one fumble and blocked two passes. Tony was also a member of the Zeta Nu chapter of Phi Beta Sigma fraternity at UGA.
Playing in the NFL
Arizona Cardinals
The Arizona Cardinals chose Tony Gilbert in the 2003 NFL draft. This was a special year for him because his two sons, Jacobi and Amir, were born.
Jacksonville Jaguars (First Time)
Later in 2003, the Jacksonville Jaguars signed Tony. He played for the Jaguars for five seasons. He was released by the team in August 2008.
Atlanta Falcons
Just two days after leaving the Jaguars, Tony signed with the Atlanta Falcons in September 2008. This meant he got to work again with Mike Smith, who used to be his defensive coach at the Jaguars. Tony had to leave the team later that year because of a hamstring injury.
In 2009, the Falcons signed Tony again.
Jacksonville Jaguars (Second Time)
In August 2010, the Jaguars signed Tony Gilbert for a second time. However, he was released by the team in September 2010.
Coaching Career
After his playing days, Tony Gilbert started coaching. He has coached at several colleges and for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Coaching at Georgia
Tony began his coaching journey at his old college, the University of Georgia. In 2011, he worked as an assistant coach for strength and conditioning.
Coaching at Auburn
In 2012, Tony moved to Auburn University. He was a graduate assistant for the defense and helped coach the linebackers.
Coaching at Georgia Military College
In 2013, Tony became an assistant coach for defensive backs and linebackers at Georgia Military College.
Coaching at John Milledge Academy
In 2014, Tony joined John Milledge Academy. He was the defensive coordinator and coached the linebackers.
Coaching at North Carolina
Tony joined the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2015. He helped with defensive quality control and coached the linebackers.
Coaching at UCF
In 2018, Tony was hired by the University of Central Florida (UCF). He worked as a defensive quality control coach there.
Coaching for the Jacksonville Jaguars
Tony returned to the Jacksonville Jaguars as a coach in 2020. He was the assistant linebackers coach under head coach Doug Marrone.
He stayed with the Jaguars in 2021 when Urban Meyer became head coach. In 2022, he was kept on the coaching staff under new head coach Doug Pederson. From 2022 to 2023, he was the inside linebackers coach.
