What is Tower Prep About?
Tower Prep is a mysterious school for students with special powers. No one knows how they got there or how to leave. The main character, Ian Archer, wakes up at Tower Prep with no memory of how he arrived. He tries to escape but fails. Along the way, he meets three other students: Gabe, Suki, and CJ.
Together, these four friends try to solve the secrets of Tower Prep. They also search for a way to return to their normal lives. The school is located on a small piece of land on Earth. This land was once owned by the school's founder. It also has many rare plants and animals from all over the world.
Meet the Characters
Main Students
- Ian Archer (Drew Van Acker) – Ian has a power called Preflex. This lets him see things just before they happen, helping him react quickly. He is a rebel who wants to uncover the school's secrets and escape. His power makes him great at martial arts and fighting. He often uses his skills to protect other students. He might be connected to the school's founder, Cornelius Tower.
- Gabriel "Gabe" Lexington Forrest (Ryan Pinkston) – Gabe has Hypersuasion. This power allows him to convince almost anyone to do what he wants. The longer he stays at Tower Prep, the weaker his power seems to get. He is the funny one in the group, always making sarcastic jokes. He is also the school's class president. Gabe has a crush on Suki.
- Candice "CJ" Ward (Elise Gatien) – CJ can read people's body language, a power called Perception. She says she doesn't remember her life before Tower Prep. To others, CJ seems like the perfect student, popular and well-liked. But secretly, she is planning to escape. CJ is good at hiding her true feelings. Her power grows, allowing her to understand people from their handwriting. It is later revealed that CJ is the Headmaster's daughter.
- Suki Sato (Dyana Liu) – Suki is from Tokyo and has the power of Mimicry. She can copy any voice or sound she has heard before. She can also perfectly copy handwriting and animal noises. Suki is usually quiet but has a bubbly personality. Her father owns Sato Systems, a big electronics company that provides technology for the school. She has an older brother, Shinji, who also went to Tower Prep.
Tower Prep Staff
The teachers at Tower Prep do not use their real names. They are called by the subjects they teach, like "Math" or "Coach History." The school's leader is simply called "Headmaster."
- Headmaster (Ted Whittall) – The Headmaster says Tower Prep helps students improve their abilities. However, there are hints he has other plans. He might be the real leader of a group called the Rooks. It's revealed he reports to a higher board. He is also CJ's father and wants to make Tower Prep like it was when Cornelius Tower ran it.
- Coach (Dan Payne) – Coach is a former student of Tower Prep. He was a test subject for a chemical called Corvus H-40, which was meant to boost abilities. He and the Headmaster were both Rooks members when they were students. Coach might have lost his power due to using too much Corvus H-40.
- Coach History (Richard Steinmetz) – He is the coach of the red buffer team and the school's history teacher. He knows a lot about the school's past and the mysterious Gnomes.
- Nurse (Karin Konoval) – She works at the school clinic. She was suspected in a chemical outbreak, but it was later found that a student named Ross Anderson caused it.
- Dr. Specs (Alek Diakun) – He works in a hidden medical lab. He prepares new students by erasing their short-term memory. Then, he transports them to the campus through tunnels.
Supporting Characters
- Whisper 119 (voiced by Peggy Jo Jacobs) – This is the school's artificial intelligence (AI). She manages the school and finds students with special abilities. She shows emotions and helps Ian and his friends. She was later upgraded to Whisper 120.
- Ray Snider (Richard Harmon) – Ray is a student and was one of Ian's first roommates. He has super strength. He suspects Ian, CJ, Suki, and Gabe are planning to escape.
- Calvin "Cal" Rice (Izaak Smith) – Cal is Ian's main rival. He is the captain of the gold Buffer team and a top athlete. His ability is enhanced hearing. He seems to have feelings for CJ.
- Conner Owens (Andrew Dunbar) – Conner is part of a group trying to return Tower Prep to its original purpose. He can move through a holographic wall with help from Whisper 119. He helps Ian and his friends.
- Cornelius Augustus Tower (David Smith, Matthew Thiessen) – Cornelius Tower founded Tower Prep. He was a magician, pilot, and jazz artist. He loved his students, but the school was taken over, and he was betrayed. He is still alive and working with the Headmaster.
- Fenton Capwell (Charlie Carrick) – Fenton is a student who loves opera. He also suspects Ian and his friends are trying to escape.
- Emily Wright (Jodi Balfour) – Emily was the former class president. She lost to Gabe in the election. She is now the class vice president. Emily wants to join "The Broken," a group that resists Tower Prep.

Why the Show Ended
On March 23, 2011, Cartoon Network announced its new shows, and Tower Prep was not on the list to return.
In December 2011, the show's creator, Paul Dini, announced on his Twitter that Tower Prep would not have a second season. This meant the show ended on a cliffhanger, leaving many questions unanswered. When asked about the ending, Dini said he was not allowed to share it. In May 2012, he also shared that there were talks to get money from other countries for a second season. However, the deal didn't happen because Cartoon Network decided not to air the show anyway.
