Town 'n' Country is a place in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is called a "census-designated place" (CDP). This means it's like a town with a name and borders, but it's not officially a city with its own local government.

History of Town 'n' Country

Before the 1950s, the area that is now Town 'n' Country was mostly natural land and farms where cattle grazed.

Building a New Community

In 1958, a company called LaMonte-Shimberg Corporation bought a large dairy farm. This farm was 525 acres big and belonged to the Webb family. The company wanted to build a new neighborhood there called Town 'n' Country Park. This made it one of the first suburban communities near Tampa.

Over the next 20 years, from 1958 to 1978, the original builders created many homes. The area grew to cover more than 2,000 acres. It stretched over three miles from Memorial Highway to north of Waters Avenue. During this time, nearly 8,000 single-family homes and townhouses were built by LaMonte-Shimberg.

On the west side, it borders the city of Oldsmar, which is in Pinellas County. A part of Tampa International Airport is also located within Town 'n' Country.
