Town Creek begins in the northwestern part of White County. It starts near the Raven Cliffs Wilderness, close to where a road called State Route 348 turns north.

The creek flows south for about 3.6 miles. Along the way, it gets water from smaller streams joining it. It meets White Creek and Turner Creek, and then crosses U.S. Route 129.

Town Creek continues south for another 5.6 miles. More small streams join it, including Glade Branch and Jenny Creek. Finally, Town Creek flows into Tesnatee Creek. This happens about 1.5 miles south of Cleveland.

Understanding the Town Creek Area

The area that drains into Town Creek is called its watershed. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) has a special name for this area: HUC 031300010503. It's known as the Town Creek sub-watershed.

This watershed covers about 26 square miles. It's located northwest of Cleveland and northeast of the Chestatee River. This means all the rain that falls in this 26-square-mile area eventually flows into Town Creek.
