Mahmoud Ahmed Ibrahim Hassan (Arabic: محمود أحمد إبراهيم حسن; born 1 October 1994), known as Trézéguet (Arabic: تريزيجيه), is a talented Egyptian footballer. He plays as a left winger for the Egyptian club Al Ahly and is also a key player for the Egyptian national team. His nickname, Trézéguet, comes from a famous French footballer, David Trezeguet. Mahmoud's youth coach gave him this nickname because they looked similar and both were great at scoring goals!
Trézéguet started his career with Al Ahly in Egypt. He joined the first team when he was just 18 years old. He helped them win important titles like the 2012 CAF Champions League and 2013 CAF Champions League. Later, he moved to Europe, playing for teams like Anderlecht in Belgium and Kasımpaşa in Turkey. He even played in the Premier League for Aston Villa. Trézéguet has also proudly represented Egypt in major tournaments, including the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Club Career Highlights
Starting at Al Ahly
Trézéguet was born in Kafr El Sheikh governorate, Egypt. He got his nickname "Trézéguet" when he was nine years old. His youth coach, Badr Ragab, noticed his amazing goal-scoring skills and his shaved head, which reminded him of the French star David Trezeguet.
He joined the youth academy of Al Ahly, a big club in Egypt. He started as a striker but later became a midfielder. He made his first professional appearance for Al Ahly in the 2012 CAF Champions League. His coach, Manuel José de Jesus, thought he was one of the best young players he had ever seen. Al Ahly won the Champions League that year and again in 2013.
Trézéguet was a rising star. He had chances to try out for European clubs like Nice in France and Nottingham Forest in England. However, he decided to stay with Al Ahly for a while longer. In 2015, he helped Al Ahly win the Egyptian Premier League title.
Moving to Anderlecht
In August 2015, Trézéguet moved to the Belgian team Anderlecht on a loan deal. Unfortunately, he broke his shoulder while training with the Egyptian national team, which meant he couldn't play for several months. This made it hard for him to settle in at Anderlecht.
He finally made his first appearance for Anderlecht in December 2015. His coach, Besnik Hasi, saw his talent but noted that the language barrier made it difficult for Trézéguet to understand team tactics. Despite playing only a few games, Anderlecht decided to sign him permanently in May 2016.
Loan to Mouscron
For the 2016–17 season, Trézéguet was loaned to another Belgian team, Royal Excel Mouscron. This was a great move for him! He played much more often and showed off his skills. He was involved in many goals, scoring some himself and helping his teammates score others.
One amazing moment was when he scored a solo goal against Gent, running from his own half. His coach called him the "most talented player" on the team. Trézéguet helped Mouscron avoid being relegated from the top league. He scored seven goals in 28 games during his loan spell.
Success at Kasımpaşa
After his loan, Trézéguet moved to the Turkish team Kasımpaşa on a loan deal in 2017. He quickly made an impact, scoring in his very first game. He continued to score many goals, becoming the highest-scoring Egyptian player in the Turkish league in a single season.
Because of his great performances, Kasımpaşa decided to sign him permanently in 2018. Trézéguet was nominated for the Turkish league's Player of the Year award, showing how well he had played.
Playing in the Premier League with Aston Villa
On 24 July 2019, Trézéguet joined Premier League club Aston Villa. This was a big step, as the Premier League is one of the best football leagues in the world. He made his debut in August against Tottenham Hotspur.
Trézéguet scored his first goal for Aston Villa in November 2019 against Liverpool. He also scored a very important goal in January 2020 in the EFL Cup semi-final against Leicester City, which sent Aston Villa to the final! He played a key role in helping Aston Villa stay in the Premier League, scoring crucial goals against Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
He faced some tough injuries during his time at Aston Villa, including a serious knee injury in April 2021. He worked hard to recover and returned to play for the team.
Loan to İstanbul Başakşehir
In February 2022, Trézéguet went on loan to İstanbul Başakşehir in Turkey. This helped him get more playing time and regain his full fitness after his injuries.
Joining Trabzonspor
On 4 July 2022, Trézéguet made a permanent move back to the Turkish league, joining Trabzonspor, who were the reigning champions at the time. He continued to score goals and be an important player for his team.
Loan to Al-Rayyan
In September 2024, Trézéguet joined the Qatari team Al-Rayyan on a one-season loan deal.
Return to Al Ahly
On 27 January 2025, it was announced that Trézéguet would return to his first club, Al Ahly, at the start of the 2025–26 season. This means he is coming back to where his amazing career began!
International Career
Trézéguet has played for Egypt at different age levels. He was part of the U20 team that played in the 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. In one game, he scored a fantastic goal against England, dribbling past two players before scoring.
He made his debut for the senior national team in August 2014 when he was just 19 years old. He scored his first goal for Egypt in his third game.
Trézéguet was a key player for Egypt in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations. He helped his country reach the final of the tournament, where they finished as runners-up. He also played in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, starting in all three of Egypt's group matches.
In January 2022, Trézéguet played in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations. He scored an important goal in the quarter-final against Morocco. Egypt reached the final again but lost on penalties. Trézéguet has played over 80 games for his country and scored 22 goals.
