Tracey Robert Mann, born on December 17, 1976, is an American businessman and politician. He currently serves as a U.S. representative for Kansas's 1st congressional district. This district is often called "the Big First." It covers a large area in central and western Kansas. It is one of the biggest districts in the United States that doesn't cover an entire state.
Before becoming a U.S. representative, Mann was the 50th lieutenant governor of Kansas. He held this role from 2018 to 2019. He was chosen for the job by Governor Jeff Colyer in February 2018.

Early Life and Education
Tracey Mann grew up on his family farm near Quinter, Kansas. His family has lived in Kansas for five generations. He worked on the farm with his grandfather, father, and brother.
Mann went to Quinter High School. He was part of many successful sports and academic teams there. He was elected president of the FFA and student council in his senior year. During college, Mann interned for U.S. Representative Jerry Moran. He also served as the student body president at Kansas State University.
Serving as Lieutenant Governor of Kansas
Becoming Lieutenant Governor
In February 2018, Tracey Mann was appointed as the Lieutenant Governor of Kansas. He was sworn into office on February 14, 2018. He served alongside Governor Jeff Colyer.
Leaving Office
Governor Jeff Colyer lost the Republican primary election in 2018. Because of this, both he and Mann left their offices the following year.

2010 Election
Tracey Mann first ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010. He wanted to represent Kansas's 1st congressional district. He lost in the Republican primary election that year.
During his 2010 campaign, Mann spoke about President Barack Obama's birth certificate. He later said he no longer believed those ideas.
2020 Election
Mann ran for the 1st district again in 2020. The previous representative, Roger Marshall, decided to run for the U.S. Senate instead. Mann won the Republican primary election on August 4, 2020. He then won the general election with 71% of the votes. This district usually votes Republican.
