Tracey Robert Mann (born December 17, 1976) is an American politician and businessman. He currently serves as a U.S. Representative for Kansas's 1st congressional district. This district is often called "the Big First." It covers a large area in central and western Kansas. It is one of the biggest districts in the country that does not include an entire state.
Before becoming a U.S. Representative, Mann was the 50th Lieutenant Governor of Kansas. He held this role from 2018 to 2019. He was chosen for the job by Governor Jeff Colyer in February 2018.

Early Life and Education
Tracey Mann grew up on his family's farm near Quinter, Kansas. His family has lived in Kansas for five generations. He worked on the farm with his grandfather, father, and brother.
Mann went to Quinter High School. There, he was part of seven state championship teams. These included football, track, and academic competitions. In his last year of high school, he was elected president of the FFA and student council president.
While in college, Mann worked as an intern for U.S. Representative Jerry Moran. He also served as the student body president at Kansas State University.
Serving as Lieutenant Governor of Kansas
Becoming Lieutenant Governor
In February 2018, Tracey Mann became the Lieutenant Governor of Kansas. He was sworn into office on February 14, 2018. He was chosen by Governor Jeff Colyer. Colyer became governor after the previous governor, Sam Brownback, resigned.
Leaving Office
In the 2018 election, Governor Colyer lost the Republican primary. Because of this, Tracey Mann and Governor Colyer left office in January 2019.

Running for Congress
2010 Election
Tracey Mann first ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in 2010. He wanted to represent Kansas's 1st congressional district. However, he lost in the Republican primary election.
During his 2010 campaign, Mann spoke about the need for President Barack Obama to show his birth certificate. He later changed his views on this topic.
2020 Election
Mann ran for the 1st congressional district again in 2020. The person who held the seat, Roger Marshall, decided to run for the U.S. Senate instead.
On August 4, 2020, Mann won the Republican primary. He then won the general election against Democrat Kali Barnett. He received 71% of the votes.

Domestic Policy
Tracey Mann voted on several important laws. He voted on the results of the 2020 U.S. Presidential election.
He voted against the Equality Act in 2021. He also voted against the Respect for Marriage Act in 2022.
Mann, along with other Kansas representatives, voted for the Laken Riley Act.
In 2025, the government worked to remove the Lesser prairie-chicken from the list of endangered species. Mann had supported efforts to do this before.
Economy
In May 2025, Mann said he believes in making Medicaid stronger. Medicaid helps thousands of people in Kansas with their healthcare. He voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act on May 22, 2025.
Foreign Policy
During the Gaza war, Mann voted to send money to Israel. This money was to help Israel defend itself.
In 2024, Mann voted against sending more aid to Ukraine.
