Discover the Trailer Lakes
The Trailer Lakes are a series of three unique lakes: Lower Trailer Lake, Middle Trailer Lake, and Upper Trailer Lake. They are nestled in a wild and natural area. These lakes get their water from the Trail Creek watershed. This creek eventually flows into the South Fork Payette River.
Where are the Trailer Lakes?
These special lakes are located within the Sawtooth Wilderness. A wilderness area is a place kept very natural and wild, with few human changes. To help protect this beautiful environment, visitors need a wilderness permit. You can usually get one easily at a registration box near the trails or at the wilderness boundaries. This helps keep track of visitors and protects the area.
Getting to the Lakes
If you want to visit the Trailer Lakes, the easiest way is to hike along Sawtooth National Forest trail 453. This trail leads you through the stunning mountain scenery. As you explore, you might notice Regan Lake downstream from the Trailer Lakes. Also, a tall mountain called Mount Regan stands proudly to the southeast.
