The Journey of the Trancura River
When the Trancura River begins its journey, it flows towards the north. It then meets its main helper river, called the Maichín River. After they join together, the Trancura River changes direction. It starts flowing west.
Near where the Trancura and Maichín rivers meet, you can find the town of Curarrehue. The Trancura River continues its path until it reaches and empties into Villarrica Lake.
How Other Rivers Join In
Before reaching Villarrica Lake, the Trancura River gets more water from other sources. One important source is Caburgua Lake. Water from Caburgua Lake flows into the Trancura through the Carrileufú River.
The Carrileufú River itself starts at a place called Ojos del Caburgua. It also gets water from the Liucura River. And the Liucura River gets its water from the stream that flows out of Tinquilco Lake. So, many different rivers and lakes are connected to the Trancura River!
Fun Activities on the River
The Trancura River is not just important for nature; it's also a lot of fun! Many tourism companies in Pucón use the river for rafting. Rafting is an exciting activity where people ride down the river in inflatable boats. It's a great way to experience the river's currents and enjoy the beautiful scenery around it.
