The Trappe River is a smaller river that flows into a larger one. It is a tributary of the Wisconsin River. You can find it in Marathon County and Langlade County in the state of Wisconsin in the United States.

About the Trappe River

The Trappe River has a few different spellings. Sometimes people write it as Trapp or Trap. The Ojibwe people, who are Native Americans, called it Tah-so-so-win-ing Se-be.

Where the River Starts and Ends

The Trappe River begins in a place called Ackley. It then flows until it meets the Wisconsin River. This meeting point is located between the cities of Merrill and Wausau.

History of the Trappe River

A long time ago, the Trappe River was very important for getting wood. It was a great source of pine trees. These trees were used by sawmills in Wausau. There was also a sawmill right where the Trappe River joined the Wisconsin River.
